Stalk the Amazing Race
Right from your home computer!
The folks at Jaunted (those same people who found these photos that you probably never wanted to see), have created Chasing Racers: The Amazing Race 9 Map Mashup. It's an interactive map thingy where you can follow the path of the teams on the race. Try it, it's kind of neat!
My only question is, what the hell is up with Massachusetts and New Jersey on that map? The rest of the eastern United States looks all green and pretty, but those two states look like some sort of concrete wastelands. New Jersey I can understand (I've been there, it's pretty nasty), but Massachusetts? Unless they converted the entire state into a parking lot in the last year, I don't know what's up.
I guess that's what happens when you let gays marry. ALL OF THE TREES DIE!

Tainted Love (of Jesus)
Can't get enough of those wacky Weavers? Well, if you love crazies like I do, you're in for a treat! Linda Weaver's (even wackier) sister Marguerite made her TV debut last week. Watch this (really crazy!) Just Us Moms! exclusive video!
Alright, like every other Just Us Moms! exclusive, the part about her being Linda's sister was totally made up (but you know those Weaver kids have an "Aunt Patsy" just like that, right?). But the video was 100% real. That delightful modern-day disciple is Marguerite Perrin of Louisiana, recent subject of the Fox reality series, Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy. Oh I just wish I had set my TiVo to record that episode!
If only CBS had included the Perrin Family in this season of the Amazing Race, it could have been so much better. "God Warrior" Marguerite would have totally lost it when she saw Sharon Godlewski's Skinemax-esque romp in the ocean. "I REBUKE YOU JEZEBELS IN THE NAME OF JEEEEESUUUUUUUUUUAAAHHHHHHS!"
UPDATE: Marguerite, the extended version. (via Reality Blurred).

Separated at birth?
The resemblance is uncanny, isn't it?

Karen and I got this very sweet note in our e-mail yesterday:
I just found your blog a few minutes ago. And, I just wanted to let you know that you two are an inspiration. You were both great! I loved watching you ladies compete. Great attitudes and great fun. Your families should be proud.
Aww, thanks! We think we're great fun too! :)
It's so nice to know that people remember the Bowling Moms, and that a few of you are reading our Amazing Race blog. We hope you like it!

Living in the past
So… with four weeks to go until the start of the new season of The Amazing Race, what's a girl to do to pass the time? Watch re-runs of old seasons on the Game Show Network, of course!
Season 1 was a thrill to watch. Did anyone else notice how TINY the mat at each pit stop was? It looked like a welcome mat! How silly! Anyway, I was so happy that the adorable best friends Rob and Brennan crossed the finish line in New York City first, while Joe and Bill, the gay couple with the nasty attitude, were still dog sledding in Alaska. Nice guys DO finish first, boys!
But Season 2 was a real nail biter! Not one of those endings where the editors try to make you think that the teams are neck-and-neck when actually they’re 3 hours apart, this ending was so exciting I was literally jumping up and down in my living room!! Of course my favorites, Blake and Paige, a.k.a. “Team Smiley” finished third, but the battle for the million dollars was between the almost equally likeable Chris and Alex, and the nasty, constantly fighting, Colin and Christie-esque team of Tara and Wil. I usually try to find positive things to say about most people, but I couldn’t stand those two, and apparently, neither could anyone else!
Near the end of the race, Tara and Wil jumped out of their car first and made a mad dash for the finish line, causing me to scream, "Nooooooooooooo!" at the TV and vow never to watch the show again if they won. But wait!! Chris and Alex arrived only seconds later, and began their sprint toward Phil, who I might add was looking very dapper in his trench coat. Lo and behold, Chris and Alex blew past Tara and then Wil as well to win the million dollars, causing me to scream with glee, especially because I didn’t have to break my vow never to watch the show again!
I think GSN is in the middle of airing Season 4 now, which means our season should be on again soon! Watch it every night of the week (weekends too… get a TiVo if you actually have a life) at 9:00 pm or midnight. Maybe Karen will get her ass up that wall a little quicker this time!!

I'm Linda Ruiz, the other half of the greatest reality-tv duo of all time (if I do say so myself), the bowling moms! My busybody friend Karen decided to create this little blog where we'll regularly weigh in on all things Amazing Race, so stay tuned!
I know you all know who won AR7 by now, but we still don't (thanks to the magic of TiVo!), so SHHHHHHH! We're routing for Chip & Kim!!

My name is Karen Heins and I starred in season five of the Emmy-award-winning reality program The Amazing Race with my best friend (and bowling partner!) Linda Ruiz. We came in fourth, which made us very happy, though we'd both be a lot happier if we had won the $1 million! HAHA! Next time I'll have to climb up the mountainside a little more quickly.
Anyway, as MOMS, Linda and I are both super excited for next season of The Amazing Race, which features families of four! Check back for our regular commentary!
