So… with four weeks to go until the start of the new season of The Amazing Race, what's a girl to do to pass the time? Watch re-runs of old seasons on the Game Show Network, of course! Season 1 was a thrill to watch. Did anyone else notice how TINY the mat at each pit stop was? It looked like a welcome mat! How silly! Anyway, I was so happy that the adorable best friends Rob and Brennan crossed the finish line in New York City first, while Joe and Bill, the gay couple with the nasty attitude, were still dog sledding in Alaska. Nice guys DO finish first, boys! But Season 2 was a real nail biter! Not one of those endings where the editors try to make you think that the teams are neck-and-neck when actually they’re 3 hours apart, this ending was so exciting I was literally jumping up and down in my living room!! Of course my favorites, Blake and Paige, a.k.a. “Team Smiley” finished third, but the battle for the million dollars was between the almost equally likeable Chris and Alex, and the nasty, constantly fighting, Colin and Christie-esque team of Tara and Wil. I usually try to find positive things to say about most people, but I couldn’t stand those two, and apparently, neither could anyone else! Near the end of the race, Tara and Wil jumped out of their car first and made a mad dash for the finish line, causing me to scream, "Nooooooooooooo!" at the TV and vow never to watch the show again if they won. But wait!! Chris and Alex arrived only seconds later, and began their sprint toward Phil, who I might add was looking very dapper in his trench coat. Lo and behold, Chris and Alex blew past Tara and then Wil as well to win the million dollars, causing me to scream with glee, especially because I didn’t have to break my vow never to watch the show again! I think GSN is in the middle of airing Season 4 now, which means our season should be on again soon! Watch it every night of the week (weekends too… get a TiVo if you actually have a life) at 9:00 pm or midnight. Maybe Karen will get her ass up that wall a little quicker this time!! |
